The textures in this are amazing; the skin and rocks look really good and I love how you've shaped the side of the face ever so slightly with shadows.

No problem.
I didn't know there was a painting, haha ^^; I've just looked it up now and your version is really close, I like how there's more texture in yours because of the pencil though.

This is great stuff, very dramatic. Your turning out so many great drawings, I can't keep up, I'll have to sit down and rest a bit.

really glad you like it, i enjoyed a lot doing this one - is quite interesting to try to render oil color in pencil...i know it sounds strange, but painters like Delacroix are so much about color, and less shape...

The difference  between tone and tint as they use to say to us in art school. Tone: the colours of shading and tint : the varying shades of colour in the subject. Separating them out and rendering them in gray scale tones is difficult . But you have mastered it quite well.

I was trying, and i love this textural way of drawing...to be honest to see a painting like this in black and white,or turned into a drawing,it changes completely...the only paintings that don't go with the gray scale tones are the Impressionist ones
